Texas House Takes Steps to Extend Medicaid for New Mothers

The Texas House took its first steps toward extending Medicaid coverage for new mothers to one year. Three years ago, before the pandemic, women only received two months of coverage and that could return if Texas lawmakers don’t act. It’s one of the bills considered a priority this legislative session.
